Whitbread PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Aug. 27 amounted to 96 Great British pence per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of £1.26 per share.
EPS climbed 13.8% year over year from 84 pence.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £174.9 million, an increase of 14.2% from £153.2 million in the prior-year period.
Total revenue grew 11.3% on an annual basis to £1.44 billion from £1.29 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 10.4% year over year to £1.15 billion from £1.05 billion.
Reported net income grew on an annual basis to £197.6 million, or £1.08 per share, from £190.4 million, or £1.04 per share.
