Windstream Holdings Inc. topped the list of shortinterest decliners among communications companies surveyed by SNL Kagan inearly March.
The Little Rock, Ark.-based company's short interest fell238 basis points between Feb. 29 and March 15 to 25.01% of outstanding shares.
Meanwhile, Cogent Communications Holdings Inc. led short interestgainers with an increase of 203 basis points to 15.46% of outstanding shares.
Despite the drop in short interest, Windstreamremained the mostheavily shorted communications stock for the two-week survey period.
