SunPower starts work on Calif. solar facilities

SunPower Corp.has started work on the 9.5-MW AC Pearblossomsolar project in Los Angeles County.

The facility will sell its output to the California Department of Water Resources under a 20-yearagreement once complete by the end of 2016, according to a May 4 news release.

SunPower is developing another 11.4-MW DC of solar via sixprojects to power public facilities operated by Santa Clara County, Calif.These projects are also targeted for completion by the end of 2016, and will beowned by the county which secured U.S. Department of Treasury clean renewableenergy bonds to the fund the systems.
