Report: Goldman Sachs hires new co-head of investment banking in Mexico

Rodolfo Pérez will take over as Goldman Sachs Group Inc.'s co-head of investment banking operations in Mexico, El Financiero reported, citing "two people familiar with the matter."

Pérez, who will begin at the company soon, will replace Jorge Combe, who recently left, the people said.

Combe and Manuel Camacho had taken over Goldman Sachs investment banking business after Martin Werner retired at the end of 2016.

Excluding the support staff and the securities division, Goldman Sachs has about 20 banking executives in Mexico, one of the people said.

Pérez presently works as Morgan Stanley's managing director for Mexico. In his new post, Pérez will report to Richard McNeil and Gonzalo García, co-directors of investment banking for Latin America, sources told the publication.
