Thal Industries fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

Thal Industries Corp. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 was 8.15 Pakistani rupees per share, a gain from 2.99 rupees per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 122.4 million rupees, an increase from 44.9 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.5% from 1.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 96.3% on an annual basis to 4.99 billion rupees from 2.54 billion rupees, and total operating expenses increased year over year to 4.74 billion rupees from 2.32 billion rupees.

Reported net income rose 24.9% on an annual basis to 136.7 million rupees, or 9.10 rupees per share, from 109.4 million rupees, or 7.28 rupees per share.

As of Aug. 5, US$1 was equivalent to 101.78 Pakistani rupees.
