New Media to sell Oregon newspaper, acquires WRPC's Ohio publishing division

New Media Investment Group Inc. acquired Wooster Republican Printing Co.'s Ohio publishing division in a deal worth $21.2 million.

New Media Investment also signed a deal to sell the Medford, Ore., Mail Tribune and related assets to Rosebud Media LLC for $15 million. The company expected to close the sale in the first quarter.

Wooster Republican Printing's publishing division consists of five daily and 18 weekly publications across northeastern Ohio. Its daily papers include The Daily Record, the Record-Courier, The Alliance Review, the Times-Gazette and The Daily Jeffersonian. The acquisition also includes a number of niche publications, websites and a commercial printing operation.
