BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH has started generating electricity at its 48-MW San Lupo wind park in Italy.
The project features Vestas Wind Systems A/S turbines and included the construction of a complex grid connection to feed the power back into the national grid, according to a Sept. 16 news release.
San Lupo, along with two other smaller wind parks in the Lazio region, were financed by Germany's Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale. The three wind projects have a combined installed capacity of 66 MW, which will help support Italy's goal of achieving 32% renewable energy production by 2030.
BayWa r.e. renewable energy is a subsidiary of BayWa AG.
