Dominion Q2 diamond output contracts on lower processing volumes, grades

DominionDiamond Corp. said July 18 that its Diavik diamond mine in Canada's NorthwestTerritories recovered 1.58 million carats in the second quarter, compared to2.14 million carats recovered in the same period in 2015.

The lower number was due to a reduction in processingvolumes, which fell to 540,000 tonnes from 560,000 tonnes, and lower recoveredgrades.

The company maintained its 2016 production guidance forthe Diavik mine of about 7.1 million carats recovered and 2.2 million tonnesprocessed.
