PacifiCorp gets federal approval to acquire 200-MW Wyo. wind farm

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on May 31 approved PacifiCorp's proposal to acquire the approximately 200-MW Cedar Springs II wind facility and related interconnection facilities from NextEra Energy Resources LLC under a build-transfer agreement.

NextEra Energy Resources will build the 400-MW Cedar Springs wind facility in Converse County, Wyo., and will sell the Cedar Springs II project to the Berkshire Hathaway Energy subsidiary upon its completion.

The Cedar Springs II facility is part of PacifiCorp's Energy Vision 2020 project, which aims to add 1,150 MW of wind generation capacity and a 140-mile transmission line in Wyoming by the end of 2020.

NextEra Energy Resources is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Inc. (FERC docket EC19-67)
