SPIInternational Inc. struck a deal to acquire television andvideo-on-demand rights to programming from British Broadcasting Corp. unit BBC Worldwide.

The deal covers shows such as "Doctor Who," "WolfHall" and "War and Peace," along with other series and films thatthe global pay TV operator will air on its FilmBox brand channels acrossCentral and Eastern Europe, Turkey, Africa and the Middle East, the companysaid April 5.

The agreement covers Poland, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania,Estonia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania,Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovenia, Kosovo andMontenegro.
