Senshukai Q2 profit falls YOY

Senshukai Co. Ltd. said its second-quarter normalized net income came to ¥8.75 per share, a decline of 23.9% from ¥11.50 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥426.4 million, a decline of 23.3% from ¥555.6 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 1.1% from 1.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled ¥37.08 billion, compared with ¥36.82 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses climbed on an annual basis to ¥36.41 billion from ¥36.00 billion.

Reported net income came to a loss of ¥55.0 million, or a loss of ¥1.13 per share, compared to income of ¥368.5 million, or ¥7.63 per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Aug. 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥124.86.
