Canadian Solar reports lower Q2'18 earnings, revenue

Canadian Solar Inc. on Aug. 14 announced net income attributable to the company of $15.6 million, or 26 cents per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2018, a drop from $38.2 million, or 63 cents per diluted share, a year ago. Net revenue was $650.6 million, a drop from $692.4 million a year earlier.

The solar panel manufacturer also reported solar module shipments of 1,700 MW, including 246 MW shipped to the company's own solar projects not recognized into revenue in the quarter. The second-quarter 2018 module shipment guidance of the company was in the range of 1,500 MW to 1,600 MW.
