White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon has been removed from his position on the National Security Council, multiple media outlets reported.
Shortly after U.S. president Donald Trump's inauguration, Bannon's position was included as a regular attendee for both statutory and nonstatutory meetings of the National Security Council and Homeland Security Council, according to a Jan. 28 White House memo.
Bannon's removal was first reported by Bloomberg News. Tom Bossert's role as Homeland Security Adviser was also downgraded, according to Bloomberg.
