Calbee fiscal Q3 profit climbs 18.1% YOY

Calbee Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥41.32 per share, an increase of 16.9% from ¥35.35 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥5.51 billion, an increase of 18.1% from ¥4.66 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 9.4% from 8.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 9.6% year over year to ¥58.37 billion from ¥53.26 billion, and total operating expenses rose 8.7% from the prior-year period to ¥50.52 billion from ¥46.50 billion.

Reported net income rose 4.9% on an annual basis to ¥4.72 billion, or ¥35.42 per share, from ¥4.50 billion, or ¥34.12 per share.
