S&P Global Market Intelligence rounds up notable branch openings and closings over the past week. This wrap excludes certain moves by banks with more than $5 billion in assets and certain credit unions.

Mid-Atlantic

York, Pa.-based PeoplesBank A Codorus Valley Co. opened a limited service facility at 1800 Village Circle in Lancaster, Pa., according to the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities' summary of activities.

The bank is a subsidiary of Codorus Valley Bancorp Inc.

Pennsylvania-based Luzerne Bank opened a branch at 669 State Rt 93 Highway in Sugarloaf, Pa., according to the state regulator's summary of activities.

The bank is a unit of Williamsport, Pa.-based Penns Woods Bancorp Inc.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia approved Asian Bank's application to open a branch at 6509 Castor Avenue in Philadelphia, according to a Federal Reserve release.

The Philadelphia-based bank is a unit of Asian Financial Corp.

Bedminster, N.J.-based Peapack-Gladstone Bank, a subsidiary of Peapack-Gladstone Financial Corp., filed an application with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to establish a mobile branch to serve in all of the bank's assessment area.

The bank's assessment area is comprised of Essex, Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Union and Hudson and Hudson Counties and portions of Middlesex County, all in New Jersey.

The New York State Department of Financial Services authorized Staten Island, N.Y.-based Victory State Bank to open a branch at 2055 Victory Boulevard in Staten Island, according to the state regulator's weekly banking bulletin.

The bank is a unit of VSB Bancorp Inc.

Englewood, N.J.-based NVE Bank notified the New Jersey Department of Banking & Insurance of its intent to close its branch at 535 Grand Avenue in Englewood. The bank intends to close the branch no earlier than Oct. 20, according to the state regulator's depository application activity report.

The bank is a unit of NVE Bancorp Inc. NVE Bancorp MHC is the bank's ultimate parent.

Preston, Md.-based Provident State Bank Inc. is opening a branch at 142 N. Harrison Street in Easton, Md., this August, according to a letter to shareholders.

The PSB Holding Corp. subsidiary will be opening its first location in Salisbury, Md., toward the end of 2018 as it expands into Wicomico County. Construction of the Salisbury branch is expected to begin in late 2017.

Dunmore, Pa.-based FNCB Bancorp Inc., the parent company of FNCB Bank, consolidated two branches in Honesdale, Pa., during the second quarter, according to the company's earnings release.

Midwest

Madison, Wis.-based First Business Financial Services Inc., the parent company of First Business Bank, discontinued the banking activities in its branch in Overland Park, Kan., in the second quarter, according to the company's earnings release.

Hutchinson, Kan.-based First National Bank of Hutchinson closed its branch at 330 East Third Avenue in Hutchinson, according to the OCC's website.

The bank is a subsidiary of First Kansas Bancshares Inc.

Carrollton-based First National Bank of Kentucky applied with the OCC for a branch at 7201 Kentucky Highway 329 in Crestwood, Ky.

Port William Bancshares Inc. is the bank's parent company.

Lancaster, Ky.-based First Southern National Bank, a subsidiary of First Southern Bancorp Inc., closed its branch at N.W. corner of Main and Church Street in Bremen, Ky., according to the OCC's website.

Southeast

Doraville, Ga.-based Metro City Bank is seeking the New York State Department of Financial Services' permission to open a branch at 138-35 39th Avenue, Space D-1, in Flushing, Queens borough, New York City.

The bank is a subsidiary of MetroCity Bankshares Inc.

Tennessee-based Franklin Synergy Bank, a subsidiary of Franklin Financial Network Inc., is set to open a new branch in Franklin. The bank is leasing a property currently in development, according to a Form 8-K.

Thomasville, Ala.-based First US Bancshares Inc, the parent company of First US Bank, is set to open an office in the Birmingham, Ala., area. Construction of the office complex is nearing completion, according to the company's earnings release.

Fairmont, W. Va.-based MVB Bank Inc., a unit of MVB Financial Corp., opened its second location in Northern Virginia, at 106 Harrison St. SE, Suite 100, in Leesburg, Va., according to a press release.

Asheville, N.C.-based HomeTrust Bank is set to enter the Greensboro, N.C., market with a commercial loan production office which will focus on commercial and industrial lending, according to a press release.

HomeTrust Bancshares Inc. is the bank's parent company.

Florence, S.C.-based First Reliance Bank, a unit of First Reliance Bancshares Inc., opened a full-service branch at 133 E. 1st North St. Suite #4, in Summerville, S.C., according to a press release.

Midlothian, Va.-based Village Bank and Trust Financial Corp., the parent company of Village Bank, closed its mortgage production office in Manassas, Va., at the end of the first quarter, according to the company's earnings release.

Springdale, Ark.-based Legacy National Bank received the OCC's approval to open a branch at 2094 South Walton Boulevard in Bentonville, Ark.

Legacy BancShares Inc. is the bank's parent company.

Southwest

Baton Rouge, La.-based Investar Bank, a subsidiary of Investar Holding Corp., opened two branches during the second quarter, in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, according to the company's earnings release.

McAllen, Texas-based Lone Star National Bank, a unit of Lone Star National Bancshares--Texas Inc., is seeking the OCC's approval to open four branches in Texas — at 1505 Lone Star Way in Edinburg; at 3621 N. Ware Road in McAllen; at 605 S. Alton Boulevard in Mission; and at 3424 Paesanos Parkway, Suite 201, in San Antonio.

Killeen, Texas-based First National Bank Texas notified the OCC of its plan to close its branch at 2025 Memory Lane, Suite 300, in Harker Heights, Texas.

The bank is a unit of FCBI Delaware Inc. First Community Bancshares Inc. is the bank's ultimate parent.

Dallas-based Texas Brand Bank applied with the Texas Department of Banking for a temporary location at 1610 S. Ervay Street in Dallas, and a permanent location at 1900 S. Ervay Street in Dallas, according to the state regulator's website.

Texas Brand Bancshares Inc. is the bank's parent company.

West

Lake Havasu City, Ariz.-based Horizon Bancorp Inc., the parent company of Horizon Community Bank, opened loan production offices in Goodyear, Ariz., according to the company's earnings release.

Seattle-based Sound Financial Bancorp Inc., the parent company of Sound Community Bank, purchased a building in Sequim, Wash., and is set to open a loan production office there later this 2017, according to the company's earnings release.

Garden Grove, Calif.-based US Metro Bank opened a branch office on Wilshire Boulevard in Koreatown, Los Angeles, and a loan production office in Seattle, during the second quarter, according to the bank's earnings release.

Goleta, Calif.-based Community West Bank NA, a subsidiary of Community West Bancshares, obtained the OCC's approval to open a branch at 541 Spring St., Building A, in Paso Robles, Calif.

Outside U.S. and Canada

Tokyo-based Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. opened a representative office in Chicago, according to a press release.
