WD-40 fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

WD-40 Co. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended May 31 amounted to 67 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 76 cents per share.

EPS rose 8.1% year over year from 62 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $9.8 million, a gain of 4.9% from $9.3 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 10.6% from 9.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased on an annual basis to $92.5 million from $95.7 million, and total operating expenses fell 5.5% year over year to $76.1 million from $80.5 million.

Reported net income increased 5.5% from the prior-year period to $11.0 million, or 75 cents per share, from $10.4 million, or 69 cents per share.
