German harmonized inflation increased to 0.4% in July, up from 0.2% in June and in line with a flash estimate, the Federal Statistics Office said.
Year over year, harmonized inflation stood at 1.5% in July, unchanged from the previous month.
In nonharmonized terms, the monthly consumer price index increased by 0.4% in July as package holiday prices surged 14.7%, food prices increased 0.3% and energy prices edged up 0.3%.
In annual terms, consumer prices rose 1.7%. Food prices climbed 2.7% while energy prices rose 0.9%. Prices of both goods and services added 1.7% year over year.
