Sayona MiningLtd. said March 30 that it secured two lithium-prospectivetenements in Western Australia, expanding the company's lithium tenements inthe Pilgangoora district to five.
Earlier this month, the company also two lithium-prospective areasin the state.
The new project areas at Friendly Creek and West Wodginacover 339 square kilometers and secure areas of past tin and tantalumprospecting activity. The rare metal pegmatite hosts were previously unexploredfor their lithium potential.
Field exploration over the projects will start shortly.
The acquisition complements Sayona's recent strategy shiftto focus on both graphite and lithium exploration, and develop the rawmaterials needed to produce lithium-ion batteries. Additional acquisitions tofurther this aim are expected.
