Specialty Program Group acquires assets of Georgia-based underwriter

Specialty Program Group LLC has acquired the assets of Atlanta-based Capitol Special Risks Inc.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Capitol Special Risks CEO Lynn Levinson and President Dorothea Westin will continue to run their business' operations for Specialty Program Group following the acquisition.

Capitol Special Risks is a niche wholesaler and managing general underwriter that deals in professional and management liability coverage. Summit, N.J.-based Specialty Program Group is a holding company for specialty insurance underwriting and managing general agency facilities.
