Poh Huat Resources Holdings Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Oct. 31, 2015, came to 5 Malaysian sen per share, a gain of 21.7% from 4 sen per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 10.3 million ringgits, an increase of 22.0% from 8.4 million ringgits in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 9.1% from 7.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 29.7% year over year to 140.2 million ringgits from 108.1 million ringgits, and total operating expenses increased 27.9% year over year to 121.5 million ringgits from 95.0 million ringgits.
Reported net income grew 43.4% on an annual basis to 15.8 million ringgits, or 7 sen per share, from 11.0 million ringgits, or 5 sen per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 13 sen per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 19 sen.
EPS rose 54.3% from 8 sen in the prior year.
Normalized net income was 27.8 million ringgits, a rise of 54.6% from 18.0 million ringgits in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased 20.4% on an annual basis to 453.9 million ringgits from 377.2 million ringgits, and total operating expenses grew 16.9% year over year to 406.3 million ringgits from 347.5 million ringgits.
The company said reported net income grew 64.6% on an annual basis to 39.2 million ringgits, or 18 sen per share, in the full year, from 23.8 million ringgits, or 11 sen per share.
As of Feb. 3, US$1 was equivalent to 4.22 ringgits.
