German industrial production up in August

Industrial production in Germany rose 2.6% in August on a price, seasonally and working-day adjusted basis over the month before, while the monthly change for July was revised from zero to a decline of 0.1%, provisional data from the Federal Statistical Office showed.

Excluding energy and construction, production was up by 3.2% in August.

Capital goods production was up 4.8% in August and consumer goods production increased by 2.1%. The production of intermediate goods rose 1.8% and energy production gained 1.7%, while production in construction slipped 1.2%.
