TiVo names former Weather Channel head as new CEO

TiVo Corp. elected Dave Shull as president and CEO of the company, effective May 31.

Shull previously was CEO of The Weather Channel (US) prior to its sale in September 2018 to Entertainment Studios Inc., according to a May 30 SEC filing. He will also join the company's board.

During his tenure at The Weather Channel from 2015 to 2018, Shull overhauled the organization to streamline operating costs and also separated the digital assets from its television and over-the-top streaming products. TiVo Chairman Jim Meyer said in a news release that Shull has "a strong track record of driving value, creating strategic outcomes and operational transformations."

Raghu Rau, who was interim president and CEO at TiVo, will now become vice chairperson of the company's board.
