Toymaker Mattel Inc. promoted director Soren Laursen to the role of executive director, effective Oct. 8.

The company said the role is part-time and Laursen will continue to serve as a director.

Most recently, Laursen served as the CEO of TOP-TOY Holding, a retailer of toys and children's products in the Nordic region.
