Penn National Insurance CEO to retire in 2020

Penn National Insurance President and CEO Christine Sears is retiring from the company, effective Aug. 31, 2020.

Robert Brandon, executive vice president and COO, will succeed Sears as president and CEO. He will assume the president role on Jan. 1, 2020, and will become CEO upon Sears' Aug. 31 retirement.

Sears will remain on the company's board following her retirement.

The company also named John Foster senior vice president for insurance operations, effective Jan. 1, 2020. Foster was vice president for underwriting operations.
