Canyon Resources Ltd. said March 12 that a review of previous exploration identified new zones of high grade bauxite at its Minim Martap project in Cameroon.
The high grade resource of 250.9 million tonnes at 50.8% aluminum oxide and 1.9% silicon dioxide was part of a previously announced resource. More than 50% of the Minim Martap resource has a grade of over 50.8%, the company said.
"We are utilizing the information from this resource analysis to assist to target the drilling campaigns, to identify new high-grade zones at the Minim Martap project," said chief geologist Alexander Shaw.
Drilling continues at the project, with plans afoot to extend it to new and previously undrilled bauxite plateaux on the Minim Martap and Makan permits.
