Wells Fargo lowers stockholder ownership threshold for calling special meetings

Wells Fargo & Co.'s board has amended the company's bylaws to make it easier for shareholders to call a special stockholder meeting.

Investors now need to own an aggregate 20% stake, at the minimum, to call a special meeting. The threshold was previously 25%.

The bylaw change is effective March 1.
