NHC Foods fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

NHC Foods Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to 26 Indian paise per share, a decrease of 51.3% from 54 paise per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 3.0 million rupees, an increase from 3.0 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 0.8% from 0.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 6.8% year over year to 372.9 million rupees from 349.1 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 6.1% year over year to 364.6 million rupees from 343.5 million rupees.

Reported net income rose 20.6% on an annual basis to 3.3 million rupees, or 29 paise per share, from 2.7 million rupees, or 50 paise per share.

As of Feb. 4, US$1 was equivalent to 61.82 Indian rupees.
