Dollar Industries fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

Dollar Industries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 80 Indian paise per share, a gain from 78 paise per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 30.7 million rupees, a gain from 30.1 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 2.1% from 2.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew on an annual basis to 1.47 billion rupees from 1.43 billion rupees, and total operating expenses totaled 1.37 billion rupees, compared with 1.36 billion rupees in the prior-year period.

Reported net income fell 7.4% year over year to 19.2 million rupees, or 50 paise per share, from 20.7 million rupees, or 53 paise per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to 62.03 Indian rupees.
