Ringer Hut Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 31 amounted to ¥9.73 per share, an increase from ¥4.39 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥214.4 million, a gain from ¥96.9 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.3% from 1.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 5.1% on an annual basis to ¥9.44 billion from ¥8.98 billion, and total operating expenses increased from the prior-year period to ¥9.08 billion from ¥8.81 billion.
Reported net income fell 23.6% year over year to ¥84.0 million, or ¥3.81 per share, from ¥110.0 million, or ¥4.99 per share.
As of Oct. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.05.
