Gold Resource Corp.'s proven and probable reserve tonnage increased 32% year over year at its Oaxaca Mining Unit, increasing the mine life by a year to over 4.5 years, it said March 8.
The Mexican operations, comprising the Arista and Mirador mines, have proven and probable reserves of 2.5 million tonnes at 1.77 g/t of gold and 136 g/t of silver containing 142,400 gold ounces and 10.9 million silver ounces.
Gold ounces decreased 15% and silver ounces increased 9% compared to the reserves at the end of 2016.
The reserves also include base metals from the Arista mine consisting of 7,263 tonnes, or 16.0 million pounds, of copper at 0.3%; 33,894 tonnes, or 74.7 million pounds, of lead at 1.4%; and 111,366 tonnes, or 245.5 million pounds, of zinc at 4.6%.
Proven and probable tonnes of copper increased 31%, lead increased 41% and zinc increased 67%, according to the release.
