The Kroger Co. said Oct. 10 that it has begun rolling out meal kits by Home Chef at some of its stores in Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.
The launch comes a few months after the U.S. supermarket chain completed its acquisition of the Illinois-based meal kit delivery company.
Kroger said there will be four Home Chef meal kit options available in the participating stores every week. The meal kits will also be available through homechef.com, where customers will find more weekly variety.
The grocer added that it will run a market test in participating stores of a quick-cook meal kit called Home Chef Express that can be served in around 15 minutes.
Kroger said it expects to distribute Home Chef meal kits to more markets next year.
