Wall Street moves: Sandler O'Neill names heads of i-banking

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a weekly rundown of selected executive management changes among the major Wall Street investment banks and other notable moves. The changes are listed by announcement date in reverse chronological order.

Dec. 19

Sanjay Madgavkar, head of Citigroup Inc.'s foreign exchange prime brokerage unit, is reportedly leaving the company, Bloomberg News reported.

Madgavkar will be replaced by Chris Perkins, head of the company's over-the-counter clearing business.

Dec. 18

BTIG LLC named Michael Carley Sr., Adam Margulies and Paul Maccrone as managing directors within the company's fixed income credit division to be based in New York.

Margulies previously was co-head of fixed income trading at GMP Securities.


Wellesley Financial Planners has joined LPL Financial LLC's broker/dealer and corporate registered investment adviser platform from Cadaret Grant & Co. Inc. The group has served approximately $400 million of client brokerage and advisory assets as of Aug. 22.


Matthew Costello joined Cowen Prime Services LLC's capital introduction team as a director. Prior to this role, Costello was a director in Deutsche Bank AG's hedge fund capital group.

Dec. 14

Bill Hickey and Brian Sterling are stepping down as Sandler O'Neill & Partners LP's co-heads of investment banking. They will be succeeded by Bill Burgess, Scott Clark and David Sandler.

Additionally, the company promoted four to managing director positions: Eric Ferdinand in investment banking, John Barnidge in equity research and Matt Brunner and Amanda Gilman in the balance sheet analysis and strategy group.

Also, Michael Piper, who works in fixed-income sales, was named as a partner.

Dec. 13

The Malara advisory team joined Cetera Investment Services LLC from Investment Professionals Inc. The team of Joseph Malara and Pamela Malara manages approximately $180 million in client assets.


Jonathan Dann was named a managing director for Greenhill & Co. Inc.'s telecom and communication infrastructure sector in London.

Dann has served as a managing director and head of telecoms and communications infrastructure research at RBC for more than four years covering European and Latin American companies.
