Saudi prince to inject US$800M in Egypt's hospitality sector

The Four Seasons resort in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, is set to get a roughly US$800 million investment from Saudi Arabia's Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, Reuters reported, citing a statement by Sahar Nasr, the country's investment minister.

Nasr said the prince plans to expand the resort in partnership with Talaat Moustafa Holding Group, according to the report. His investment will also provide for the opening of two new hotels in Egypt, located in al-Alamein and the Cairo suburb of Madinaty, the Aug. 7 report added.

Alwaleed owns around 40 hotels and resorts in Egypt, and has 18 more under construction, the report noted.
