OCC OKs Capital Bank-First Tennessee merger

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency on Oct. 16 approved the Capital Bank Corp.-First Tennessee Bank NA merger, according to the regulator's website.

Raleigh, N.C.-based Capital Bank and Memphis, Tenn.-based First Tennessee are the respective subsidiaries of Capital Bank Financial Corp. and First Horizon National Corp. First Horizon expects to close the acquisition before the end of the year.
