PolishPresident Andrzej Duda named Adam Glapinski as his candidate for president ofthe Polish centralbank, and will ask the parliament to endorse the appointment.
Glapinskiis a former presidential adviser and a member of the Polish monetary policycouncil. He has served as a member of the central bank's board since February.
Accordingto analysts cited by Reuters on May 6, the new head of the Polish central bankcould come under pressure from Poland's ruling party PiS to help the governmentsolve the problem ofSwiss franc-denominated mortgages.
