7 missing after tailings dam collapse at Cieneguita property in Mexico

Seven people are missing after a tailings dam collapse at the Cieneguita gold-silver complex in Chihuahua, Mexico, the Associated Press reported June 5, citing Mexican authorities.

Workers were swept away in the incident, according to local media reports. Two others who got hurt are currently hospitalized.

The mine is owned by Cluster Minero de Chihuahua, which did not respond to requests for comment.
