New York REIT chairman resigns from Healthcare Trust board

Healthcare Trust Inc. named board member Leslie Michelson nonexecutive chairman, replacing Randolph Read, who resigned.

Read is also the nonexecutive chairman of the board of New York REIT. That company announced that Read resigned from the Healthcare Trust board in order to dedicate his full attention to New York REIT's plan of liquidation.

Apart from stepping down as board member and nonexecutive chairman of Healthcare Trust, Read resigned as a member of the board's audit and nominating and corporate governance committees. The company noted in a filing that Read did not resign due to any disagreement with Healthcare Trust.

The board changes, which follow the conclusion of a strategic review at Healthcare Trust, are effective Oct. 11.
