KAZ Minerals starts commissioning of Bozshakol clay plant

KAZ Minerals Plc completed construction and started commissioning works at its Bozshakol clay plant in Kazakhstan, the company said Sept. 29.

The plant has an annual processing capacity of 5 million tonnes and is expected to start production of salable copper concentrate this year.

The new plant will increase Bozshakol's total ore processing capacity to 30 million tonnes per annum, including the main 25 million-tonne sulfide concentrator, which produced first copper in February.
