Ta Yih Industrial profit misses consensus by 36.9% in Q1

Ta Yih Industrial Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the first quarter was NT$1.41 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of NT$2.24 per share.

EPS decreased 15.6% year over year from NT$1.67.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$107.8 million, a decrease of 15.6% from NT$127.7 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 7.5% from 7.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 11.0% on an annual basis to NT$1.43 billion from NT$1.61 billion, and total operating expenses declined 9.2% from the prior-year period to NT$1.30 billion from NT$1.43 billion.

Reported net income decreased 8.0% from the prior-year period to NT$156.4 million, or NT$2.05 per share, from NT$170.1 million, or NT$2.23 per share.
