Texas regulator approves 30.5% homeowners rate increase for 1347 Property unit

The Texas Department of Insurance on May 17 signed off on a 30.5% statewide homeowners insurance rate increase for Maison Insurance Co.

The rates are effective as of June 1 for new business and Aug. 1 for renewal business, according to a June 4 regulatory filing from parent company 1347 Property Insurance Holdings Inc.

Maison Insurance remains closed for new business in many of the counties that saw the highest rate increases, the filing added.
