Wesdome expects to hit lower range of FY'16 gold production target

Wesdome Gold MinesLtd. said March 29 that it expects to achieve the lower range of itsoverall gold production forecast this year.

The Eagle River operation in Ontario is expected to produce between54,000 ounces and 60,000 ounces of gold — with 43,000 ounces to 47,000 ounces comingfrom the Eagle Rivermine and 11,000 ounces to 13,000 ounces attributed to the Mishi mine.

First-quarter output is projected to reach 8,300 ounces, with5,500 ounces from Eagle River and 2,800 ounces from Mishi. Production in the nextquarter is seen to rise to 12,000 ounces, with 9,000 ounces coming from Eagle Riverand 3,000 ounces from Mishi.

"Due to the Eagle River mining sequence, we expect gradeand tonnage to increase from current levels in the second half of this year,"Wesdome said.

The company produced 50,470 ounces of gold in 2015, with EagleRiver churning out 41,013 ounces and Mishi 9,457 ounces.
