Netflix Inc. is producing "Alexa & Katie," a new multi-cam comedy series about two best friends, set during their freshman year of high school, Netflix said April 9.

The 13-episode series will star Paris Berelc as Alexa and newcomer Isabel May as Katie. Heather Wordham and Matthew Carlson will serve as executive producers and showrunners.
