Epiq Systems to appeal shareholder's court win over board nominations

Judge Joel Fahnenstock of Jackson County Circuit Court, Mo.,allowed St. Denis J. Villere& Co. LLC to nominate a competing slate of directors forEpiq Systems Inc.'sannual meeting, the Kansas City BusinessJournal reported April 5.

Epiq Systems spokesperson Kelly Bailey said in an email toS&P Global Market Intelligence that the company plans to appeal the ruling.

St. Denis J. Villere took Epiq Systems to to keep the financial technologycompany from blocking its slate of board nominations.

The publication reported that the judge issued a declaratoryjudgment and permanent injunction in favor of St. Denis J. Villere. He alsodetermined that St. Denis J. Villere properly terminated a standstill agreementit had with Epiq.
