The U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed two commissioners and the chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission on the last day before the chamber heads for its month-long August recess.
Senators confirmed in a voice vote Republicans Christopher Giancarlo as chairman and Brian Quintenz as commissioner, as well as Democrat Rostin Behnam as commissioner.
The chamber did not confirm a third Republican, Dawn Stump, to the agency. It leaves the commission with one Democrat, as Sharon Bowen recently announced her resignation.
