Aska Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Feb. 28 amounted to ¥29.34 per share, a gain from ¥14.45 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥167.5 million, a gain from ¥82.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 3.5% from 1.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 7.4% year over year to ¥4.74 billion from ¥5.11 billion, and total operating expenses decreased 5.5% year over year to ¥4.70 billion from ¥4.98 billion.
Reported net income increased on an annual basis to ¥193.0 million, or ¥33.80 per share, from ¥70.0 million, or ¥12.26 per share.
As of April 9, US$1 was equivalent to ¥120.35.
