Credit Suisse names successor to departing asset management global head

Credit SuisseGroup AG appointed Eric Varvel to Bob Jain as global head of assetmanagement.

Effective June 1, Varvel will join the bank's international wealthmanagement unit and become a member of its management committee. He will reportto international wealth management unit CEO Iqbal Khan.

Varvel will be based in New York but will spend asignificant amount of time in Switzerland and various emerging markets such asAsia-Pacific to further drive the development of the bank's global assetmanagement franchise.

Varvel has worked for Credit Suisse for more than 25 years,including as CEO of the investment bank and CEO of Asia-Pacific and Europe, theMiddle East and Africa. Most recently he served as chairman of emerging marketsand sovereign wealth funds and a senior adviser to the CEO.
