TEGNA Inc. appointed Anne Bentley as vice president and chief communications officer of the company.

Bentley, who will report to President and CEO Gracia Martore, will oversee the company's external and internal communications strategy.

Prior to joining TEGNA, Bentley served as vice president and head of corporate communications for PBS, where she was the lead communications officer.

Bentley succeeds Sunny Uberoi, who decided to leave due to commuting issues, according to a company spokesman.
