Great Portland Estates names nonexecutive director

Great Portland Estates Plc appointed Nick Hampton as a nonexecutive director and chairman of the audit committee, effective Oct. 17.

Hampton serves as CFO at multinational agribusiness Tate & Lyle plc since 2014. Hampton had also worked for PepsiCo Inc. for 20 years in a number of financial and operational roles, according to the statement.

Great Portland Estates Chairman Martin Scicluna said in a statement that Hampton joins the board with "considerable" experience in the financial and commercial sectors.

In May, Great Portland Estates served that Jonathan Nicholls was stepping down as nonexecutive director, effective July 7, and was joining Shaftesbury PLC as nonexecutive director and chairman-designate, effective Sept. 1.

Subsequently, Charles Philipps was named Great Portland Estates acting senior independent director and chairman of the audit committee, effective July 7.
