Boston Properties signs Fannie Mae for northern Va. office development

Boston Properties Inc. entered into a binding lease agreement with Fannie Mae for 850,000 square feet of approximately 1.0 million square feet to be built at the office real estate investment trust's Reston Gateway project in Reston, Va.

The development will be built in phases and may ultimately encompass as much as 3.5 million square feet. Fannie Mae intends to occupy the space in 2022.

The project is adjacent to the Reston Town Center Metro Station on the Metro's Silver Line, which is currently under construction, with completion set for 2020.
