DBRS on July 11 confirmed Bankinter SA's BBB(high) senior unsecured long-term debtand deposit rating and changed the trend on the rating to positive from stable.
The rating agency confirmed the bank's R-1(low) short-termdebt and deposit rating, with the trend on the rating remaining stable.
DBRS maintained the bank's BBB(high) intrinsic assessmentand SA3 support assessment.
The confirmation of the ratings reflects Bankinter's soundfundamentals and solid performance throughout the financial crisis which hasenabled the bank to strengthen its franchise position in the Spanish market,DBRS said.
The change in the trend of the senior unsecured long-termdebt and deposit rating incorporates the fact that the bank's previous heavyreliance on wholesale funding has improved to more acceptable levels.
